Seems lots of people ate humus(don't know about the quality though...) in London's World Travel Market(tourism fair) Israeli booth the other day ...
http://www.ynet.co.il/articles/0,7340,L-3622458,00.html

According to ynet - Israel's leading newspaper "The Worlds Largest Humus Plate" was made and served in the Israeli booth of the World Travel Market in London aiming to go into the Guiness book of records ....

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Humus Extra Large
The Israeli booth presented a plate of Humus weighing 420 kilograms with a diameter of 4.23 meters to note the celebrations for Tel Aviv's 100 years anniversary.

The plate was places on a trampoline strengthened with wooden beams. Hundreds of pita breads were given to curious visitors who gatherd in an attempt to taste a bit of Israel.

" The Humus Plate is part of efforts to market Israel as a whole and especially Tel Aviv as a fun and energetic destination." said Eitan Shwartz P.R. rep for the Authority for the 100 Year celebrations for TelAviv. He also commented that there were arguments among the crowd wweather you should wipe the humus in straight lines or in circles.

Documentation of the event will be sent to Guiness World of Records and pending a process that is expected to take two months they will decide if this event can be recorded is a double world record for both weight and size(diameter of the plate).

And I say , can we have the exact proportions ?

How many kg chikpeas ? and how many kg Tahini ?
and how many kg garlic ? and salt and lemon ????

how do you boil 420 kg of humus ? and how do you mix it ???

From past experience - I once made humus for a 100 people used about 5kg
of chikpeas and 1.2 kg Tahini ... and it wasn't fun at all , very difficult to work with such a quantity and preserve the quality. 420 kg sounds like a crazy impossible task.

Don't think you can preserveany sort of quality with such a huge amount.

Too , I wonder what Mr. Phadi from the Lebanese chamber of commerce would say ....

True! I come from a religious house, so when I was a child I could not bear jokes with god in it. Or, well, they just had to be real funny...
